The Switch Aero System utilizes just two pieces to completely alter a bike’s geometry aero bars attach to the original handlebars using a quick-release clamp similar those found on many bicycle hubs. We raised 2.5 times our original funding goal, which allowed us to bring the system to market. The response was overwhelming – people loved the idea of maximizing the versatility of their existing road bikes. In June 2013, we launched the Switch Aero System on Kickstarter, a crowd-funding platform that lets independent backers jump-start small businesses and projects. We drew on this extensive design, prototyping and manufacturing experience to bring our first product – the Switch Aero System – to market. Ripple Design works on a wide range of products, from medical devices to large-scale landmine clearance equipment. Prior to founding Redshift Sports, we managed (and still manage) Ripple Design LLC, an engineering consulting and product design firm in Philadelphia. Redshift Sports innovative cycling components allow riders of all abilities to get the most out of the bikes they already own. We are a small group of mechanical engineers who happen to be avid (if somewhat average) cyclists and triathletes. “Redshift Sports was founded in 2013 by Stephen, Erik, and Scott with the goal of making components that help cyclists and triathletes ride further, faster, and more comfortably on the bikes they already own.
